Mozand B.V. is located on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. And is led by Dr. Adri van der Zanden (Medical Molecular Microbiologist). We are a relatively small organization with quality as a top priority.
Mozand B.V. specializes in analyzing Respiratory (SARS-CoV-2 & Influenza A/B) and various STDs (Chlamydia Trachomatis, Neisseria Gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma Genitalium, Trichomonas Vaginalis).
Area of expertise:
Molecular diagnostics, BSL3 and quality.
Dissertation / Publications:
Spoligotyping, a tool in epidemiology, diagnosis and control of tuberculosis
‘The ‘spoligotyping’ technique is a technique I have managed to optimize and implement in a diagnostic medical microbiological laboratory.
Eventually this has led to multiple studies, giving support to laboratories in Bangladesh, Tanzania, South Africa and Indonesia and also a number of publications in the area of mycobacteria and the supervising of two PhD students.
I became a medical molecular microbiologist after working as an analyst from 1980 to 1987, and as a chief analyst after that up to 1997 in the Pathological-Anatomical & Bacteriological-Serological Laboratory in Deventer.
In 1996 I graduated in Biology, specializing in molecular microbiology.
From 1998 to 2007 I worked as a molecular biologist. During this period (2000-2007) I was also ‘primus inter pares’ of the Medical Microbiology and Infectious diseases department of the Gelre Hospitals in Apeldoorn and Zutphen.
From 2002 to 2007 I was also a part time member of staff of the Clinical Chemistry department of the same hospital.
I obtained my PhD in 2002. My main drive was ‘to go above and beyond’ and ‘to work with energy and enthusiasm’. Hence the text I quoted in my thesis: ‘just looking doesn’t mean you see, when you see it grabs you’.
In 2007 I was registered in the Medical Molecular Microbiology registry of the NVMM’.
Het laboratorium is 5 dagen in de week
geopend voor analyses. Wij zijn telefonisch bereikbaar van maandag t/m vrijdag van 09.00 - 16.00 uur.
